  The review above does not take into account handling fee. The shipping fee is a basic charge based on shipping rates, but the handling fee requires extensive level of care. Watches are relatively delicate merchandise. When Parsec receives and ships a watch, they have to secure it and handle it with care. When shipping it, items are processed and shipped by adding extra packaging dependent on the items being handled. I doubt many people would want to pay for a watch to be repaired then shipped without any care for the method that it was shipped? All this takes a professional who knows how to handle delicate items, and that's why you pay a few bucks extra. By the way, most companies charge a shipping AND handling fee. It's not uncommon at all. Most people would prefer to pay a few bucks extra to make sure their watch (or part) is properly secured.

  I got a wooden watch as an anniversary gift, but was having a very hard time finding a place that would resize the band. I went to four big-name jewellers that refused to even try. Parsec ended up resizing it successfully for less than what the other jewellers were offering. They obviously know more about watches than most Peoria jewellers.
