  If I could give this place zero I would. Our United flight from O'Hare to Peoria got cancelled (apparently a VERY common occurance from what I hear, just because they don't bother to staff it.) We took a flight to Springfield instead and had my husband pick us up. First we were told our luggage would be on a separate flight to Springfield and we'd have to drive back to pick it up. Then I got a call saying it went to Peoria and that we could pick it up at the United check in desk at any time. So we went there and there was not a single employee in sight. Not at any check in desk, not at the information desk, nowhere. All there was was a slip on paper on the check in desk with a phone number scrawled on it to a help desk in another country that was absolutely no help at all. There were 4 families there waiting to pick up their luggage all at the same time. Eventually someone walked by, but they were from a different airline and told us our luggage was right around the corner in a locked office, but they'd be fired if they unlocked another airline's office and that there were absolutely no United employees there and there wouldn't be until the next flight departed around 7 pm (this was around 11 am). Finally someone came up and helped us, so at least it got resolved, but the whole ordeal took about an hour and a half. It is absolutely unacceptable that there is no one at the desk unless there is a flight departing.
